Reading Buddies

In year 3 and 4, we believe that reading is not only a vital life skill to help us on our learning journeys but to unlock creativity, imagination and a love for books. For this we have created time for children in class to share a book with someone else. In this time, readers share their reading and the listeners are their to help with unfamiliar words, meaning and understanding of the text and to ask questions to the reader. This has given more meaning during reading for the reader, improved conversation around a text with children working together and children have shown a greater love for reading.
