House System

At Cummersdale School, the children are split into four House Groups: Helvellyn (green), Blencathra (yellow), Skiddaw (blue) and Catbells (red).

The children are awarded dojo points which are added together to give House Team totals. The easiest and most common way is by being good and doing good work. Generally 1 or 2 dojo points are awarded for this. You  may be awarded more if you do something extraordinary. 

We also hold House competitions. During sports day, the children all compete for their houses and gain points resulting in a winning house. Throughout the school year there are various house sporting events where points are awarded, these include: rounders and cross country. 

We think that House groups work really well. They help to build teamwork and cooperation.
